Luis Loyola Serrano

Director of Loyola Baseball Academy

Luis Loyola Serrano is a former professional baseball player from Havana, Cuba, where he played for the prestigious Industriales — one of the country’s most iconic and successful baseball teams. His experience on the field allowed him to develop a deep technical and tactical understanding of the game, as well as an unwavering commitment to excellence and athletic discipline.

During his years with Industriales, Loyola played as a catcher, a position that honed his leadership, game-calling, and defensive skills. Competing at the highest level of Cuban baseball instilled in him the values of perseverance, teamwork, and respect that continue to guide his approach to coaching and mentorship today.

Over a decade ago, Luis emigrated to the United States, settling in Hialeah, Florida, where he transformed his lifelong passion for baseball into a mission to teach and inspire. He went on to found the Loyola Baseball Academy, an organization dedicated to the comprehensive development of young athletes, blending technical instruction with personal growth and strong moral values.

Under his leadership, the academy has become one of the most respected programs in Miami-Dade County, known for its structured training, positive environment, and player development success. Loyola’s teams — the Loyola Lightning — have achieved championship titles in the Miami Youth Baseball Association (MYBA) and have competed in USSSA and Perfect Game national tournaments, reflecting the academy’s high standards and competitive spirit.

With over 15 years of combined experience in professional baseball and youth coaching, Luis Loyola Serrano continues to make a lasting impact on his community. His academy serves as a space where discipline, teamwork, and passion for the game come together — guiding the next generation of players toward success both on and off the field.
